International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) 2018 focusing on this year’s theme: Celebrating 25 Years of Action for Biodiversity was celebrated at the GBPNIHESD HQs at Kosi-Kataramal, Almora and its four Regional Centres located at Kullu (H.P.), Srinagar-Garhwal, Pangthang (Sikkim) and Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh).

A two-days workshop (22-23 May 2018) was organized at Institute HQs in which school children learned various techniques of recycling and reuse of plastic. Rally to beat plastic pollution; Nukkar Natak; Participants were educated by Institute Faculty/Researchers on: (i) Himalayan Biodiversity: Threat, Conservation & Management; and (ii) Nursery & Plantation Technology; Quiz Competition; Poems, Drawings based on "Beating Plastic Pollution".
