Educational Visit of 70 Students and Teachers to GBPNIHE: Learning on Himalayan Ecology, Sustainability and Mission LiFE

A group of 70 students and teachers from Atal Utkrisht Government Inter College, Deenapani, Almora, visited the Institute on an educational tour. They gained insight into the Himalayan region's ecological significance and the Institute's integrated, ecosystem-based initiatives that connect water resource management, biodiversity conservation, livelihoods, and climate change mitigation. An interactive session on cybersecurity and Information Technology systems enhanced the students’ knowledge of web portals, responsible social media use, and database management. Students were encouraged to adopt Mission LiFE activities in their day-to-day lives to support sustainable food systems, healthy lifestyles, water and energy conservation, and waste reduction, including plastic and e-waste. All participants took the Mission LiFE Pledge for a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle. Students also visited the laboratories to gain practical insights into biodiversity conservation and the sustainable utilisation of bioresources.
