On the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity 2026, G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBPNIHE), Kosi–Katarmal, Almora organized an outreach programme under the theme “Acting Locally for Global Impact”. The event brought together students, teachers, researchers, experts, progressive farmers and environmental enthusiasts. The programme was graced by Chief Guest Shri Kishan Singh Malara, popularly known as the “Tree Man of Uttarakhand,” who was honoured by the Institute and inspired students by sharing his experiences and message on environmental conservation. The occasion was also graced by environmentalist Shri Tewari Ji. Through interactive activities and discussions, the event promoted biodiversity awareness and encouraged collective action for a sustainable future.
