The Institute participated in the World Wetlands Day celebration organized by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, government of India at Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary in Delhi on the theme ‘Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage’. During the event, the Institute jointly with National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), exhibited traditional knowledge, products and cultural heritage on conservation and management of wetlands from Himalaya to Coastal region. The event focused on the importance of wetlands and the crucial role played by traditional knowledge systems and local communities in their conservation. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh in the presence of Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister Environment, Delhi Government, Shri Tanmay Kumar Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
