A group of 30 medicinal plant–growing farmers from the high-altitude village of Wan, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, visited the Surykunj of the Institute on 03 February 2026. During the visit, the farmers interacted with institute experts and received valuable insights into scientific cultivation practices aimed at producing high-quality planting material. The discussions also focused on developing effective market linkages to ensure better returns for farmers. The interaction was organised with the objective of enhancing farm income and motivating local youth to adopt medicinal plant cultivation as a sustainable and viable entrepreneurial opportunity in high-altitude regions.
