Two-Day ToT on Bio-Briquetting Using Pine Needles

A two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on bio-briquetting using pine needles was held from 29–30 December 2025 at the Rural Technology Complex of the G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, Almora, in collaboration with The Hans Foundation. Forty volunteer firefighters from the Almora and Bageshwar districts participated in the programme, which focused on converting pine litter into bio-briquettes to reduce forest fire risk while creating livelihood opportunities. The training included technical and hands-on sessions on bio-briquette production, value addition, and entrepreneurship, and concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants.
